From a Viral Moment to a New Beginning at Brooklyn Paramount

Sometimes, making a difference starts with something small.

Earlier this fall, Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino came across a video featuring David Thurman, a single father in New York working to build a better future for himself and his family.

The video, shared by social media creator Zachery Dereniowski, known as MDMotivator, caught Michael's attention. He reached out to his team with a simple question: Could Live Nation help David find an opportunity?

What followed was a conversation about David's experience, his goals and where his skills could make a difference.

Having previously worked in maintenance for McDonald's and the State Parks, David had experience that made him a natural fit for Brooklyn Paramount, the historic music venue in Downtown Brooklyn.

David visited the venue, met General Manager Heidi Amato and toured the building, learning about its history and the work that goes into keeping it running for artists and fans.

Today, David is joining the team as a full-time Maintenance Assistant, with opportunities to support other Live Nation venues across New York.

For David, it's a chance to build on his experience and create a new chapter for himself and his family. For Brooklyn Paramount, it's an opportunity to welcome a colleague who brings valuable skills and determination to the team.

Across Live Nation, community impact extends beyond the shows onstage through local job creation, neighborhood investment, and meaningful ways to give back.

David's story is one example of how a simple connection can turn into an opportunity — and a reminder that the impact we make extends well beyond the stage.
