Ticketmaster, NHL and OneCourt Bring Hockey Gameday To Life For Blind and Low-Vision Fans

Key Takeaways

Ticketmaster and the NHL are bringing OneCourt’s haptic tablets to NHL tentpole events, which started with the NHL Heritage Classic on Oct. 25.

The Washington Capitals, Colorado Avalanche, Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings are also the first NHL Clubs to make the tablets available to blind and low-vision fans at all home games.

The expansion builds on Ticketmaster and OneCourt’s partnerships with the NBA and an NFL pilot last year.

Ticketmaster is partnering with the National Hockey League to bring complimentary OneCourt tablets to blind and low-vision fans at all NHL tentpole events in North America during the 2026-27 season, including the Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic, Discover NHL Winter Classic, Honda NHL All-Star, and Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series.

OneCourt’s tactile broadcast technology converts real-time game data into vibrations fans can follow beneath their fingertips, allowing them to feel every play as it happens.

"This partnership with the National Hockey League is a milestone achievement for accessibility in live sports," said Kurt Schwartzkopf, Head of Sports at Ticketmaster. "Ticketmaster is proud to support our NHL partners in bringing this experience to life and advance our mission to make live events inclusive and accessible to every fan.”

Beyond the NHL’s events, the Washington Capitals, Colorado Avalanche, Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings will be the first NHL Clubs to offer OneCourt tablets to fans at all home games. Through the teams’ partnerships with Ticketmaster, blind and low-vision fans at the teams’ venues can now feel the game at their fingertips, free of charge.

As the only major professional sports league to produce live game broadcasts in American Sign Language (ASL) through NHL in ASL, the NHL has established itself as a leader in sports accessibility.

“Technology has the power to make hockey more accessible, immersive, and inclusive,” said Dave Lehanski, Executive Vice President of Business Development & Innovation at National Hockey League. “By combining OneCourt’s haptics technology with NHL EDGE Puck & Player Tracking data, we’re creating new ways for fans to experience the speed and excitement of our game and helping bring hockey to more audiences at tentpole events and in arenas across the League."

The NHL expansion builds on Ticketmaster’s ongoing efforts to enhance the game-day experience for blind and low-vision fans and ensure that all fans of all abilities can feel the excitement of live sports. Since 2025, Ticketmaster has made OneCourt tablets available to fans at every home game for nine NBA teams and supported an NFL pilot across four clubs and Super Bowl LX.

“Our community has been asking us for hockey since day one, and launching it with Ticketmaster and the NHL is a milestone for OneCourt,” said Jerred Mace, CEO and Founder of OneCourt. “Blind and low-vision fans can now follow the action with their fingertips, feeling the pulse of every move, pass, shot, and goal alongside everyone else in the arena.”

Across teams and leagues, Ticketmaster continually seeks ways to invest in its partners’ communities, from bringing accessibility technology into arenas to supporting local programs that matter to fans. This partnership is the latest example of Ticketmaster’s ongoing commitment to supporting accessible initiatives.

OneCourt tablets will be available free of charge at Guest Services at all North American arenas hosting NHL tentpole events this season.
