Swedish House Mafia Sets New Nordic Electronic Music Attendance Record

Swedish House Mafia made history in their home country on Saturday, August 29, drawing 65,972 fans to Ullevi in Gothenburg and setting a new Nordic attendance record for electronic music.

The landmark show was the trio’s biggest concert to date and Sweden’s biggest concert of the year so far.

The record-breaking night saw Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso return to the stage in Sweden for a huge hometown celebration, with nearly 66,000 fans filling Ullevi for a career-spanning performance that included global hits such as Don’t You Worry Child.

The scale of the production matched the occasion. The night opened with an airplane flying over the stadium, creating a sparkling pyrotechnic sequence across the sky, before Swedish House Mafia took to a futuristic 360° stage at the center of Ullevi. Four large towers, LED screens, lasers, smoke and pyrotechnics transformed the stadium into an immersive live experience created especially for the landmark show.

The show marks another major milestone for Swedish House Mafia and a historic moment for electronic music in the Nordics.
