Shakira has wrapped up her historic European residency in Madrid, completing 13 shows and welcoming more than 700,000 fans to Macondo Park.
Produced by Live Nation Spain, the residency transformed a purpose-built 220,000 m² venue into the home of one of the biggest live music events Spain has ever seen. Fans travelled from across Europe and beyond to experience the run, turning Madrid into the centre of Shakira’s European tour.
The residency is expected to generate more than €200 million in economic impact for the city, highlighting the wider contribution of live entertainment to local businesses and tourism.
Across the run, Shakira was joined on stage by a host of special guests, including Dua Lipa, Laura Pausini, Alejandro Sanz, Maluma, Beéle, Manuel Turizo, Dani Martín and Bizarrap. Together they showed the global reach of Latin music.
The residency closed with “12+1. The Day of Latinidad,” a final show celebrating the Latin community and the themes that ran through all 13 nights: identity, resilience and belonging.
