The countdown is on for the biggest On The Steps series yet, returning to Sydney Opera House Forecourt from Saturday, 28 November until Saturday, 12 December with an increased capacity and more shows than ever.
Always a highlight of Sydney’s summer calendar, the series presents 12 unforgettable evenings with up to 7,000 people per show on Australia’s most iconic stage, and will once again partner with the Australian music industry’s charity, Support Act, to raise funds for behind the scenes workers who have fallen on hard times.
The legendary Australian Crawl supported by Boom Crash Opera will kick off the series on Saturday 28 November, followed by Pub Choir’s Ultimate PDA, presented by Ausify on Sunday 29 November, bringing thousands of voices together to learn one iconic Australian song through music and comedy.
On Tuesday 1 December, American punk rockers Rise Against will bring their explosive live energy, joined by Dropkick Murphys and Haywire, followed on Wednesday 2 December by critically acclaimed Mercury Prize-winner James Blake, supported by Xmunashe.
Hometown heroes DMA’S take the stage on Thursday 3 December for their largest show to date, supported by Automatic, while Friday 4 December sees the arrival of acclaimed British rockers Wolf Alice, joined by local favourites Folk Bitch Trio and Swapmeet.
“Bassline Junkie” Dizzee Rascal will headline Saturday 5 December, with a stacked supporting bill of Example, ArrDee andSwaglord Savannah before the series continues with country singer-songwriter Dylan Gossett on Sunday 6 December, with support from The Jack Wharff Band.
British singer-songwriter Suki Waterhouse kicks off the Australian-leg of her Loveland tour Tuesday 8 December, followed by homegrown indie stars Spacey Jane playing two sold-out shows on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 December, supported by Telenova and Armlock.
Rounding out the series on Saturday 12 December are local post-hardcore heavyweights The Amity Affliction alongside Thornhill and WAAX.
DMA’S said, “Big respect to the Opera House for having us. It’s a great stage with a lot of history. This is the biggest show we’ve put together so we're stoked to have the privilege - see you this summer”.
Continuing its commitment to supporting the Australian music community, On The Steps will once again partner with Support Act, the Australian music industry’s charity. Official On The Steps merchandise will be available throughout the series, with 100% of proceeds donated directly to Support Act. Fans can also make a voluntary donation when purchasing tickets to On The Steps, as well as to any Live Nation show in Australia throughout November 2026.
Support Act provides vital support to music industry workers experiencing challenges that prevent them from working, including illness, injury, mental health concerns or other personal crises. Funds raised help deliver short-term financial assistance and mental health support to those working behind the scenes to keep Australia’s music industry thriving.
The partnership builds on Live Nation’s support for AusMusic T-Shirt Day, taking place on Thursday 26 November 2026, which raises awareness and funds for Support Act. Music fans are encouraged to get involved by wearing their favourite Australian music T-shirt, starting a fundraiser or making a donation to help support the people who make Australia’s music industry what it is.
Clive Miller, CEO, Support Act, said: “On The Steps is a celebration of live music and our partnership with the event series is a chance to give back to the people who make it possible. We’re grateful to Live Nation for continuing this partnership and to every fan who buys a T-shirt or makes a donation. Funds raised through the series help Support Act to provide short-term financial relief and mental health support to music workers in crisis.”
Mike Ross, Promoter, Live Nation Australia, said: “Live music wouldn’t be possible without the people working behind the scenes. Fans really got behind our On The Steps merchandise last year, and we’re excited to build on that support with a new design that gives them a great memento of the shows while raising funds for music workers doing it tough.”
2026 marks Live Nation’s fifth year of presenting On The Steps, curated exclusively for the Sydney Opera House Forecourt, and more than 50,000 fans are expected to experience a show across the season.
